Globalisation is a very common and contemporary problem, especially in accordance with the recent enlargement of the European Union. Nevertheless, I believe, that it is not powerful enough to destroy and engross the national identity.
Firstly, it must be pointed out, that the history, tradition of every country, particularly the European ones, is so deep and long, thus it would not be easy to make it forgotten or lost.
The other convincing argument is that the authorities, governments have already recognized this knotty problem. It would probably mean, that they would not let it to be unsolved and do everything to keep the national identity.
What is more, even people like globalists, who widely manifest their disapproval of globalisation, help this subject not die.
However, it can be argued, that the latest unification is so drastic and fast, that some day it will get out of control. There will be no breaks to stop it go even further. The European Union already has the common law, which is in prevail of the national ones, common monetary policy and furthermore has got rid of the boarders between the countries.
Taking everything into consideration, it might be concluded, that globalisation does not establish any danger to the national identity, which could not be solved, as long as, it is treated with special care.
